Behaviors that are socially accepted in one culture may be considered rude in another. Being aware of the common social conventions in a culture can help us avoid offending others in our social interactions.
In a multi-ethnic societies such as Canada, a wide range of socially acceptable behaviors and conventions exists, and what is considered polite or appropriate can vary from community to community.
