The news reported that when people send in resumes, if they have "foreign" names they will not be called as often as people the "Canadian" names, even if they have excellent job qualifications. Do you feel that this has happened to you?

Yes i have had this experience.
As I have last name of my husband, who is original canadien, I was invited for interview.
The women just want to now, is I real canadian, when I said: "No, i am  emmigrant." she answered me:"Sorry, we already have taken sombody!" She asked so much questions about where i am from, no one question about my experience and she answered me so fast after , that reason was obevios.
In few second she realised that she should not say that and she try to explane what she  mean, but... she said what she said.
Finally, i found more interesting job

Hi,

In my opinion this is a touchy subject.
Discrimination due to foreign names and country of origion happens a lot and many immigrants have to go through this painful experience.

Sad but true! Unhappy

Tongue
and I had applied  for two different place where they asked Photoshop.
They refuse me, becouse that i don't have canadien experience in this filed.
I wonderin, is the Photoshop  different in each country?
I think that answer is simple, nobody want to risk.

I want to say one things more.
Children, who came in Canada with us and recived canadian education, don't have any problems  to find a job.
I think that problem is not in foreign name, problem is in foreign diplomas.
Usually, parents works hard from begining and they don't have time and energy for get education.
