Canada

There are many things to like about living in Canada. This short essay is going to focus on three important things that I like about living in Canada. Universal healthcare, education and a multicultural society.

Universal health care is a key feature for healthy and happy citizens. As a Canadian or permanent resident, you are allowed to have a family doctor and you do not pay for any visits, this is important for better follow up and prevention in terms of health teaching. Hospitalizations are one hundred per cent covered including medications, food and procedures. This alleviates financial stress and pressure on families. Pregnancy follow-ups and delivery are covered with the benefits of a healthy outcome for the baby and the mother. In general, Canadian universal healthcare is important to me and too many other people.

Education is important to any country’s citizens for good development. Canada has taken education to another level. It is free from elementary to high school. Parents only have to supply scrapbooks and pencils to their children. College and university programs are affordable for Canadian citizens and permanent residents, government loans are available to low and middle-class income individuals, payable at low interest when students are done their programs. Adult schools are available for people who did not finish high school on time for different reasons. This gives them another chance to pursue their education. I believe that educated citizens develop their country.

Canada is often classified as a multicultural country. Everybody is welcomed in Canada and free to practice their culture. People practice their religion and speak their homeland language freely. A majority of immigrant children speak their mother tongue, this ensures continuity of multiculturalism. There are different restaurants in Canada representing people’s origin. You get to enjoy food from your country but also taste other cultural food. It’s like travelling the world in Canada.

In summary, there is much to like about living in Canada. However, having free health care, good education and living in harmony with people from different countries are among what makes Canada my home.
