Employment

FIND A JOB text and flag of Canada on the buttons on the computer keyboard. Employment related conce

After I came to Canada, I tried hard to find a job that is similar to the work I did in my home country. I modified my resume format and attended free employment courses provided by the federal government. However, I discovered that without a Canadian education or local experience, it is next to impossible to get a job interview because employers are reluctant to give newcomers a chance. As a result, I started thinking about other ways to find a suitable employment: preferably a flexible part-time job that would allow me to take care of my family while working.

Because I majored in economics and finance at Beijing Information Science & Technology University and worked as an accountant and project manager in China, I have chosen to pursue a career in Canada as an insurance broker. I believe that I could easily transition into this type of work given my past education and work experience.  Also, there are a lot of job opportunities in this field as the insurance industry is very developed in Canada because everyone has insurance needs. For example, car, house, health, and life insurance. I hope to help people with their insurance needs. I believe that if I take my studies and job seriously and work hard, I can make great progress in this career.
