We had a wonderful summer vacation, especially with the visit of my cousin. She lives in Los Angeles, CA and she came to visit us here in Canada.

We visited many places with her, for example, we went to Toronto´s Island. It is a beautiful place. My cousin enjoyed the boat trip to the island. When we were waiting the boat, out of nowhere, it started to rain very hard, we got completely wet, but we were happy. We took a lot of photos. It was a wonderful day.

On Sunday Sept 19th, we went to Niagara Falls, it´s an amazing place to visit. We went on a boat that took us to see the waterfalls up close; she was very impressed by it. Later that day, we ate at RainForest Café and the food was delicious, we loved it. We had a great time. The weather was fantastic. We came back home after 11:00 pm, we felt so tired. Niagara Falls was our favorite place!

On Monday, we went to Guelph´s downtown; we ate ice cream, coffee, and sweet bread. My cousin and I remembered our childhood, it was exciting.

In another occasion, we visited Emerald lake, my cousin loved it. Although, the water was so cold that we couldn´t be inside the lake for a long time. We had Thai food for dinner that night.

The following day, we visited some small cities near Guelph, like Elora, Elmira, St. Jacob´s, and Fergus. They all are beautiful cities.

One afternoon after I got home from work, my cousin surprised me by cooking a typical dish from my country. I love and miss the food from El Salvador.

At the end of her visit, we went to Toronto´s downtown, specifically Kensington Market. We ate Dumplings, poutine, ice cream and we drank a delicious coffee.

My cousin´s visit was the best part of my summer. She has a special place in my heart and that is why she is my daughter´s godmother.

Even though she is too young to be a grandmother, she has grandchildren.  2 beautiful boys who are 1 and 3 years old. Hopefully, next time she visit us they will come with her.
