Parenthood

mother hand holding newborn

Nine months ago, I was so pumped up when I did the pregnancy test and the result was positive. Being a mom for the second time has been a hard task and exciting at the same time. Although I have previous experience with pregnancy and birth with my older daughter, this time with a new baby boy, it is completely different in many ways.

First, the method of delivery. I delivered my daughter by C-Section at 31 weeks of pregnancy and she was discharged to NICU. Conversely, my son had a normal delivery and he was discharged together with me and we both went home together. Indeed, hugging and caring for a newborn baby of one-day is an overwhelming feeling of happiness.

The second difference is the way of feeding each of them. My little girl was bottle fed, while my son is being breastfed. The most important thing is that although they have been fed differently, they are both healthy.

The whole family is delighted with his birth. My daughter was blown away to see a real baby moving and crying in front of her eyes for the first time. I thought that she might be afraid of him, but actually she likes touching his little hands, helping me change his clothes and she loves to rattle his toys to entertain him.

My family was in seventh heaven when they saw the baby and brought him some awesome gifts when they came to congratulate my husband and me.

My hope is to raise the baby and his sister to be happy and good citizens, and I hope that when they grow up, they will also be supportive of their father and me.
