Parenthood

Raising children is a complex process, which differs from one country to another. In my home country, raising children is less developed than in Canada. We use different tools for raising kids, some of them are right and others are wrong. It depends on the parent's experiences, cultures, awareness and education. For instance, in the past, they use intimidating tools. That was because they don't know another tool to deal with the issues, and they thought this is the only way to stop kids from doing bad behaviours. Also, they don't know what the negative impacts of these tools on the kids are. These days parents are getting more educated about parenting. In contrast, here in Canada, raising kids is hard, because there are rules stop parents from being aggressive and abusive. Also, kids are aware about their rights and duties. So, parents treat them wisely, with self-control and politeness. Another point is the facilities and services in Canada are more developed. Parents are engaged in the parenting programs and workshops that help them to do their best. In addition, most parents in my home country are authoritarian. They don't believe in kid’s freedom, independence and imagination. They want them to be obedient, but in Canada I feel most parents are permissive. They trust their children and that helps the children a lot in being able to be confident, creative and independent. In my opinion, I think children are worthy to do our best to raise them in a perfect way.
