dogs playing outside

Hi!  My name is Austria.  I'm the happy owner of five dogs.  In the next several lines I'll tell you a story about how they came into my life.  I will start with their names:

Taco and Kronk are brothers and both are 10 years old.  Dana is the Queen of the house; she is 12 years old.  Bruce is 9 years old and the baby, Paul, is 7 years old.

Taco and Kronk are brothers and they arrived at my home on a cold night in December.

Dana is my beautiful girl; she came from Mexico.  I remember noticing her one afternoon while I was filling up my car at the gas station.  I saw a little black puppy outside the gas station.  She was completely wet because it had been raining all day.  I walked up to her and took her in my arms.  I asked around the gas store if anybody knew her owners but nobody was there for her so I decided to bring her with me to my car and drive home with her.  Since that day, she's stayed with me and, a year after moving to Canada, I traveled back to Mexico to bring her home with me.

Now I'm going to tell you the story about Bruce.  He arrived one afternoon in November when winter had started here in the Yukon and some days had already hit -30.

I remember getting a call from my sister-in-law telling me there was a coyote outside the house, possible waiting for shelter or food.  It had been playing with my other dogs before they got cold and whimpered for my sister to bring them back inside the house.  She told me she didn't know what to do with the coyote.  I told her we couldn't leave him outside because it was super cold.  I asked her to please leave him in the garage and take him a bowl of warm water and food while I found out what to do with him.

After work, I went home and decided to check on the coyote.  There was a big surprise waiting for me… the coyote was in fact a dog!  After that,  we decided to keep him.  That night, we were watching the movie “Finding Nemo.”  We loved the shark in the movie whose name was Bruce,  so we decided to pass this name onto the newest member of our family.

Finally, we have Paul.  He arrived one day in the summer.  We were driving when I thought I saw a calf.  We went to take a look at him and discovered he wasn't a calf after all!  He was a puppy!  He was all alone in the bush so we decided to keep him as another member of the family.

I hope you enjoyed reading about how my babies became part of my family.!

I love them - they are my friends, my babies and my family.
