Tabbouleh salad in a wooden bowl on the table

 

Since I am originally from Syria, I would like to talk about Syrian food.  There are many types of Syrian food.  I want to shorten the list by talking about one of my favourite Syrian salads, Tabbouleh.

Tabbouleh is a well known salad around the world.  It is healthy and easy to make.  Its ingredients are:

  • Lettuce
  • Parsley
  • Green onions
  • Tomatoes
  • Cabbage
  • Lemon juice
  • Bulgur
  • Salt
  • Olive oil.

Preparation:

First, wash the vegetables.

Second, chop them into small pieces.

Third, roast the bulgur with olive oil.

Fourth, when the roasted bulgur cools down, mix it with the chopped vegetables and add lemon juice and salt accordingly.

Finally, the salad will be ready to serve!
