eggplant musakka on white plate

Today I am going to introduce you very famous Turkish cuisine called Patlican Musakka. It goes well together with rice and Cacik (I also want to share short recipe of that Cacik as well).

Ingredients:

  • 4 pcs medium size long eggplant
  • 1 lb minced ground beef
  • 3 pcs fresh green or red pepper
  • 2 pcs tomatoes (grated)
  • 1 pc medium size onion
  • 1 glass of hot water
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 3 spoon olive oil
  • salt, ground black pepper, red pepper, cumin
  • 1 spoon tomato paste

Preparation:

  1. First of all, peel the eggplants as variegated then slice them as rounded shape.
  2. Make them wait inside salty water at least half an hour (this help to get rid of bitterness of eggplants)
  3. Dry them. Deep fry them inside hot oil weightlessly.
  4. After deep fry eggplants, take out them on paper towel in order to absorb their oil.
  5. For Sauce: Fry minced beef with little oil
  6. After fry for a while add small dice onion cubes and fresh papers and continue to fry.
  7. Then add minced garlic, grated tomato paste and seasonings
  8. After Tomatoes take their water, add 1 glass of hot water. Cook till tomatoes take all their water.
  9. Align all fried eggplant inside pot, add sauce with meat.
  10. Add 1 glass of hot water. Cook at 15 min with medium high
  11. Let rest the dish before we serve it.
  12. You can also put it in the oven for a few minutes to bake top of it.
