Introduction:

Almond katli  ( squares) recipe – Almond katli is an Indian sweet made with almonds, sugar, & saffron.  It is a very delicious and healthy dessert.

Ingredients:

Almonds - 1 cup

Sugar - 1 cup

Water - 1/2 cup

Ghee - 2 tbsp (ghee is clarified butter. It is available in some grocery stores and most ethnic stores)

Saffron - A pinch

Method:

  1. Soak Almonds with hot water for 2 hours and peel off the skin.
  2. Grind the almonds into powder in a grinder.
  3. Heat sugar and water till it reaches one string consistency.
  4. Add ghee, saffron, and almond powder.
  5. Cook till it is thick and separates from the pan.
  6. Place it on a butter paper and knead for some time and roll it with a rolling pin.
  7. Cut into desired shapes.

The kutli is now ready to eat and enjoy!
