Milestones written on road with arrow

Remember to celebrate milestones as you prepare for the road ahead
- Nelson Mandela.

My first milestone was when I was a child and we moved to Mongolia. It was so special because we took a train, and it was far away. It took us six nights to get there. We literally lived in the middle of the Mongolian desert, barely had trees around us. Only a few buildings. But it was an incredibly special experience. We made lots of friends, we were introduced to a new culture, we lived in a new land.

My second milestone was when we moved to Israel. I was 14 years old, I couldn’t even say one word in the Hebrew language. It felt strange because when we came in the middle of the winter, there was no snow, but there were flowers, green leaves, oranges and other citrus fruits on the trees. Actually, it was astonishing and weird at the same time.

The third milestone for me was a parachute course I took. When I was a soldier I jumped with a parachute. It was a big deal for me because heights are not my cup of tea. I felt proud because it helped me overcome my fear.

The Forth milestone was when I became a mother. Frankly, motherhood has changed my life completely. Suddenly, this amazing little person became the centre of my universe. Every single time when I looked at him, I couldn’t believe how I could live without him. I have learned how to worry and to be happy at the same time.

My Fifth milestone was when we moved to Canada. Also, it was not the first time for me to move to a new place, but this time we were in charge, and from that moment on we were responsible for two kids and far away from family and friends. The feeling was a little bit strange. Such beautiful places, kind people, interesting culture, community and much more! Sometimes, I felt pretty sad because I couldn’t share this beauty and exciting moments with my family. I started to take a picture everywhere and sent it to them. This way we feel a little bit closer.
