Travel (Outside of Canada)

Lonely man with backpack sitting on the top of the mountain and looking at beautiful landscape

I would like to share a little bit about an amazing trip I took with my husband two years ago, in July 2017. At that time, he was working in a company that sent him for two weeks to Ireland, to work on a specific project.

While he was working, I spent the first week in Europe traveling in Scotland and in Wales all by myself. It was an amazing experience and I really enjoyed being able to visit all the places that I wanted to see and to do my own itinerary.

After that, I joined my husband in Ireland, and we went to Northern Ireland with a bunch of friends for the weekend. It is interesting because that is no borders between the two countries, and we could really see the hostility between Catholics and Protestants demonstrated by the gates that separate Belfast, North Ireland´s capital, into two areas.

When his two week of work finished, we were able to travel a little bit more, so we decided to backpack to some countries, such as Czech Republic, Austria, Poland, Switzerland.

Also, we had the opportunity to visit amazing places such as Dubrovnik, in Croatia, and Santorini, in Greece. I have never seen places so awesome like these.

Dubrovnik looks like a movie scenario (which is partly true, because a lot of Game of Thrones scenes were recorded there). When you are there, you can feel as you are back in time. And the Adriatic Sea is fascinating.

Santorini is also amazing and has the most beautiful sunset that I have ever seen. No matter what you are doing, before the sunset, you must stop to watch it.

We spent a month in total, backpacking in Europe for the second time, and we really hope to go back there soon.
