Housing

Expensive modern house with huge windows in Montreal, Canada.

If I had to choose between buying a condo or a house, I’d prefer a house. First of all, it’s quieter and you have 2-4 neighbors, which reside about 10 meters away. Second of all, you may have your own garden and grow organic fruits and vegetables. Third of all, your house can make you money. You can lease part of your house and in addition the price of your house might get higher. Next, you have some space for barbeque and celebrating different events outdoors. You can even install a small pool for children. One more, a big positive argument to buy a house is that you don’t pay maintenance fees, which could be more than $1000 per month. Of course, you must do your own maintenance if you have your own house and spend money on repairs. Anyway, it’s cheaper to own a house than to own a condominium.
