COVID-19

n95 masks

Right now in my nursing home we have an outbreak. Because of this, they are giving us training about how to use PPE. They told us to always wash our hands before putting on the gloves and after taking them off and to use sanitizer instead of washing our hands with water and soap. When you are taking off your mask, wash or sanitizer your hands and always take your mask off from behind your ears as that’s the cleanest area. If your mask is wet or dirty change your mask. Always keep your hands clean.

Now I am going to tell you about N95 masks. You cannot wear just any N95 mask. It should be properly fitted onto your face. At my work they showed us how to wear it. They told us when you wear mask always clean your hands and then put it on. Never touch the inside of your mask. When they did the fitting on my mask, they put a cover over my eyes and sprayed sugar syrup into the air near my face. Then they ask me if I could taste it and I told them I couldn’t taste anything. They asked me to turn around and move my head up down and side to side and try to touch the sky and touch the ground. I still couldn’t taste anything, so they told me that is the perfect fit for me. They told me my mask size, so now whenever I need a mask I have to tell them my size.
