Celebration

Bride and groom dancing the first dance at their wedding day. Guest on the dancefloor

The wedding celebration in Cameron normally is in three steps.

The first step is the time when the fiancé comes with his family, which means with his parents, uncles and aunts; they come to the house and talk to the girl’s family about their intentions for the marriage as well as ask the girl’s family about the gifts they want. Usually, the girl’s family offers peanuts and alcohol, and provides a list of the requirements for their daughter, and the boy’s family needs to come back with all the list completed. Normally, the boy’s family brings some gifts for the grandparents, uncles and the rest of the family.

In the second step or the second meeting, the fiancé and his family comes with the whole list and they talk about the money and specific details for the wedding party and everything is paid by the boy and his family.

The third step is when finally, they meet for the wedding. The boy comes with all the gifts and brings money for the girl’s parents. They spend a lot money for games, for example, the game when the bride is introduced to her husband. The first time the girl brings other girls and her friends and the boy has to guess who his wife is, and then the group asks for money and ticket to help him find his bride, and finally when the fiancé comes to the room, the party starts.

Overall, the wedding celebration is a lot of fun!
