Canada

Rainbow at Montmorency Falls, Quebec Canada

That was a long trip to Quebec in the Spring. On this trip I had the opportunity to visit Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec City. On this trip we started from St. Catharines with my whole family in two cars. The first rest stop was Toronto. We stopped there and ate breakfast in a Chinese Restaurant. After breakfast we started driving directly to Ottawa.

In Ottawa we visited the Parliament Building. That is a big building. It looks very beautiful because of its old architecture. There are many people coming from many provinces and many countries in the world, who come to visit the Parliament Building and many other buildings in Ottawa. The area in front of the Parliament Building is covered with red colour. That colour is made of more than 5 thousand Tulip flowers. We walked around and took some pictures. We went inside the Parliament Building. In there it was very crowded. There was a long line-up of people who wanted to get inside. There were many police officers who were checking every visitor carefully. We walked around inside and came back to the parking lot to get the car and continue to the next place. It is not too long to get to Montreal from Ottawa. In Montreal we had a booking in a hotel and stopped for the night there.

In the morning of the next day, we started to Quebec City. In there we went to visit some of my brother’s friends. In Quebec City we had an opportunity to go to a Vietnamese Restaurant. I learned something interesting. All the people in Quebec speak French instead of English and some restaurants open at noon, then close in the afternoon and open again at night. That is impossible in my restaurant. We ate lunch in a Vietnamese restaurant. We met the restaurant’s owner who is my brother’s friend. That was the first time I saw the restaurant with only two staff members - husband as a waiter and his wife as a cook. We waited for more than an hour for the food to just arrive. After the special lunch we walked around Quebec city. We went to see many buildings with old architecture. We learned much about Canadian history.

We said goodbye to Quebec City and went to the last stop of the trip. This place was on the way home. There was a big hill with too many steps on the hillside stairs beside the falls. We purchased the ticket for the slings. We had to go up the hill by the slings and walked down. We had to cross the suspension bridge with the falls below. We walked and took many picture. It was a very beautiful day. I enjoyed the beautiful place with a blue sky and a breath of fresh air. We walked down the stairs, step by step. It was really scary for me. I took many pictures until the end of the trip. We had to come back to St. Catharines and to go back to work. That was a great trip. It is in my memories. It was the first time I went on a trip in Canada with my family. Canada is beautiful! Canada is great!
