The Canadian culture and the Dominican culture are completely different in many ways.
In the Dominican Republic people like to eat rice, beans and chicken for lunch and they eat dinner late. On the other hand, in Canada people normally eat a sandwich for lunch, and dinner is regularly around five in the afternoon.
It is common in the Dominican culture to throw a party for many occasions. For example, we have a lot of baseball players abroad. We always have a big party when they come back from other countries. On the other hand, in Canada people are happy, but they don’t have a party for everything.
In Canada, they celebrate holidays by having a supper or party at a family members’ house, but in the Dominican Republic we celebrate in a different way. We have parades and drink on the streets until late at night.
