Settlement

It is hard for immigrants to settle in Canada and survive their new lives here. One of the main reasons is that often our education is not valid here. In some occupations a license is required. You are eligible for a job only if you pass an exam. In some fields our experience does not count. You have to start from the beginning with your career.

Another point is language. You must know English fluently, and only then can you get a good position. Since immigrants are new to Canada, sometimes they have no more contacts which can provide reference here. In some fields companies have laid off employees and for this reason life is becoming harder here than in our home countries.

If you want to buy a house you have to have a full time, permanent job before you can be approved for a mortgage. In the past five years because the housing market is so hot in the GTA, it's become a dream to buy a home. In our homeland, we don't have to worry about a job as well as property.

Although the lifestyle is better than our country (education, transportation, health, and atmosphere are good here), sometimes we miss the peaceful life back home. These are all our beginning years in another country, and these are some struggles which mostly all immigrants to Canada face.

Despite these challenges, Canada is still the best country to live in and it is safe too. People are so kind and helpful. The government provides lists of benefits. After passing some years here, people can get a more satisfying life. So the majority of people know after overcoming all these struggles, we can get a better lifestyle than in our country. So everyone loves Canada.

Thank you.
