My name is Claudia. I’m from Colombia and I came to Canada 9 years ago with my husband and my oldest daughter looking for a better future. It was very difficult to say goodbye to our families and it has also been hard to live away from them.

This process has been difficult especially for the language but I’m very grateful for the tools that this country provides to immigrants like me, making our new life easier.

My main challenge is to learn English as it would help me to be more independent and confident. LINC Home Study is a great opportunity for me because I can study from home. I also have a very good teacher who helps me a lot giving me all the support I need.

I want to get my citizenship to have security of my status here, although I would like to continue with my English class.

Living in this beautiful country has been a true blessing for me and my family. We feel safer and more peaceful here than in our country. Canada has changed our lives.
