My name is Vera and I come from China. I have a happy family with my 5-year-old daughter and my husband. We love each other so very much, and we will have a new family member a baby girl soon, too. I have always had a dream to go around the world, not just to travel, but I want to stay there for a period of time to get to know it more.

When I was a little child, I always wanted to find a wonderful lifestyle and to see all the wonderful things in the world. I come from Kunming, which is the provincial capital of Yunnan province in China. It is a small city in China, but Kunming is a very beautiful and most famous and popular tourist attraction in China. It is a flower city with clean air and very good temperature around 25 degrees yearlong – it is not too cold or hot. So, many people want to live in Kunming. However, I don’t like to live a stable life style. I have always had a wonderful dream.

I studied from the elementary school to university in my hometown.  I was never allowed to leave Kunming until I got married, because my parents always felt it was dangerous outside for me. So I really was excited to get married, as it was a perfect excuse for myself to go outside. My husband and I went to several cities to work in 5 years. After we had a baby girl, my husband and I decided to find a great city to begin our new life. We believed Toronto would be the best city for us. Therefore, we decided to immigrate to Canada, which is a perfect country for my family. We can study the multi-ethnic cultures, and we can spend our vacation to travel in Canada first, and America or Mexico. We have faith to have the stable and wonderful life here.  So we didn’t mind spending more than 3 years waiting to immigrate here.

When we landed in Canada 3 years ago, we knew that we made a right decision. My family and I really like living here. I am so lucky: I found a job as a graphic designer on the fifth day after I had landed. So we have been living a stable life from the beginning. I began to study English in LINC Home Study 2 years ago. My English teacher gives me more confidence to have the conversation with other people in English. I want to keep studying English because I really feel the progress and my life is going well. I want to live a better life in Canada.

I have a wonderful dream, I always think, we live in the world, we need to see it, feel it and love it. It had been just a dream before I landed in Canada, but I have the faith to make it come true right now, because I live in Canada to make it easier.
