Celebration

Newborn baby feet in parents hands

Children are a blessing from God and we feel happy with their presence so we celebrate their birth in Chad.

On the seventh day after birth, the parents create a guest list to invite the family and others who they know and prepare to take the feast of 'Aqeeqah. From the sixth night they will sing, dance and cook and bring gifts to the child and the mother. The atmosphere is great and the house is decorated with lights. At the dawn of the seventh day, the dad slaughters the sacrifices to prepare the food and the parents name the infant. The tradition is that the father says the name of the infant in the ear of the infant so he can recognize his name. As a result, the official ceremony ends and the family continues to enjoy their day until night.
