Celebration

Scenes of Samba carnival with drum group

In my country, Brazil, there is a party that is celebrated all over the country in the month of February called the carnival. There are four days of celebration in clubs or on the streets. The rhythm of the party is Frevo and Samba songs typical of Brazil. It is four days of holiday all over the country, and people dance and drink. On the first day of the party in my city, Recife, people go to the centre of the city to celebrate the carnival by following a block called Galo da Madrugada (rooster dawn). More than a million people take to the streets at that time. The symbol of the Galo da Madrugada is always placed on top of one of the bridges. My city has many bridges, so it is called the Brazilian Venice. See you in Brazil in February! You will love it.
