Some people think that elementary school children should not have homework because it takes away the children's precious time instead of letting them spending it on other things during their childhood. Despite of what they think, we cannot deny that homework has a very important role in the children's life for many reasons:

Firstly, it increases their knowledge and improves their abilities and skills.

Secondly, it encourages the children to form good study habits that will help them when they enter high school, university and eventually when they start to face the real world.

Lastly, parents will be able to contribute to their child's learning process.

In my opinion, I think that homework is important to prepare the children for success in academic and other careers as well. But, it should be limited to a specific quantity to allow them to enjoy their childhood which they will never have the chance to live it again.
