Honesty Is The Best Policy Message. Recycled paper note pinned on cork board.

People use the quote of honesty is the best policy to say that telling the truth is better than lying even when it is hard to do. In my opinion, being honest is also the best policy to lead people’s life easier and happier, especially in all relationships for family, friends, or at work. In addition, being honest with oneself and others can make people to be the best they can be. I’d like to share my own experiences to explain why honesty is the best policy for a better life.

First of all, being honest can make people create trustworthy relationships with family members, friends or workmates. The main consequence of lying is losing somebody’s trust. No one likes to find out that he or she has been lied to, that’s why an honest person can win trust and reputation in all relationships:

-Honesty can strengthen family’s relationships because a couple can completely trust and rely on their mate, meanwhile, the relationship between parents and kids can become closer and safer. Therefore, being honest can bring a family comfort and peace.

-A true friendship should be based on honesty because no one would like to get hurt from lies. Everyone believes that an honest friend is always there for friends in any situation.

-Honesty can build solid foundations to have good business partnerships or collaboration in business or at work. Being honest is the only way to help the relationships of trust with partners, customers, colleagues, competitors, staff and every other individual and entity.

I would like to give some examples from my personal life. I’ve been honest as much as possible in my life and have won trust in all my relationships. My husband relies on me a lot, my kids are honest and welcomed at school; all my close friends have known me for more than twenty years and they believe I’m dependable and reliable; even at work, during the past twenty years working in different companies, my former bosses approved my expense application forms without any checks or asking further information to show me their trust and satisfaction, and I was the only one who could get promotion easily within the company.

In conclusion, even though being honest is hard, it’s also a valuable way to make life easier and happier by creating trustworthy, safe relationships. And definitely telling the truth always makes people benefited more than lies.
