Homeland

Krakow. Image of Krakow Market square, Poland during sunrise.

There are many places I will never forget, but the most special place for me is located in the south of Poland, in Europe. It is the royal city of Cracow, which is over a thousand years old and is called the capital city of Europe. It is difficult to disagree with this view because Cracow captures everything: unique architecture, history, and atmosphere. It is the place where time stopped several hundred years ago.

I always return to this place if I have such a chance since there are beautiful monuments, legends and museums. Also, in Cracow you can find the heart of Art, where the artistic atmosphere mixes with the oldest Polish universities, which have shaped the character of the city for hundreds of years.

Presently, the most outstanding artists, singers, writers, and painters produce their work in the oldest part of this city and sell their art in the streets every day. However, these are not the only attractions in this wonderful city. You may also find cafés and restaurants where Polish kings feasted, also Wawel Castle where dragons, crows and royal catacombs may be found and antiques galleries. In addition, you may enjoy Mariacki Church, the Barbacan, which are among many other places worth visiting. Another place, which is full of not only tourists but also famous people, is Planty Park.

When the day is over and the night falls, the lanterns slowly light up, and the city looks more beautiful, unusual, and romantic.  The atmosphere makes you feel like you were really moving into the past. Everywhere you see people who love and admire this unique city, and there is no such a thing as time wasted on sleep. I should emphasize that it is necessary to see it and everyone who visits Cracow loves this place from the first moment they see it and longs to return there.
