Travel (Outside of Canada)

children in india eating together

There is saying in my hometown that a traveller has more experience than a grey haired person. The earth is filled with everlasting experiences and wonders. I lived in India for two and half years and I have a lot of experience from living in India, it is a life-changing experience. Many things have been said about India in the last couple of years, their foods, fragrances and sounds. I spent more than two years travelling around India.  I was a trader while I was in India and I exported garments from India to my home country Nigeria.

I love business, and I'm working right now in Canada to save some money to start what I love to do most, shipping used cars abroad. I met hundreds of people and had a mix of good and challenging experiences in India. One thing I can tell you as a fact, India is an incredible country. India is huge. I had no idea of how huge it was until I went there. It's the dimension of India that makes it special. From  the overcrowded and overwhelming streets of Delhi and Mumbai, to the absolute wilderness and solitude of the northern regions bordering Nepal, India will never stop to surprise you. I love some of their foods.

One of the things you will encounter while in India, to a higher or lesser degree is poverty. Immediately when I got out from the Mumbai international airport ( Chhatrapati Shivaji) about four kids followed me and started begging for money. I said oh my God I thought I was coming to my promised land, lol, because I didn't know much about India then, and it is indeed a promised land to me because I met a Canadian good woman, and she is my wife right now. We have a three year old handsome boy. She sponsored me to come to Canada. I have seen people eating from piles of trash, children begging everywhere in the cities of New Delhi and Mumbai. One important thing I learned in India is that money isn't everything. Parallel to that poverty, I have seen a sense of community, contentment and peace I have never seen in some countries I have been to. People live with their extended family and near by, neighbours know each other's names and interact with each other on a daily basis. I really enjoyed it because that is how it is in my hometown. Like I said earlier, going to India was a life changing experience. Being in Canada today, my beautiful wife and our handsome son are good experiences and they all started from India.
