Hockey is a great game. Not only because I live in Canada where everybody enjoys this game, but it really changed our lives.

Actually, the full name of hockey is Ice Hockey, but Canadians just call it hockey. I guess we are bored of the word ICE. :) The hockey system is very complicated in Canada. There are many levels of games, from Minor to AAA, and different zones separated from each other, such as Western, Ontario and Quebec. Even Hockey Canada cannot cover all clubs. The town I live in has a great minor team. It probably is the biggest minor in Canada, as I read in a newspaper.

Hockey has changed my life, because it helped me quickly adapt in our community. When I moved to the town, I knew nobody. We live very close to the community center, therefore; we often go to the rinks to watch games. Sometimes it is a home game, and sometimes we can watch a game between our town vs other town. One day we found our neighbor also went to the games. He introduced to me a lot about the local hockey. We had fun watching games together. After that, I registered my boy in a local minor club. Now he plays every week as a defenseman and has so many good friends. I, on the other hand, watch games to learn hockey English. It is the best way to adapt to my community in Canada.

This season is going to end very soon, but I am so convinced that our lives in Canada are just starting.
