Cricket ball resting on a cricket bat on green grass of cricket pitch

I love all sports because all sports are good for our health. But cricket is the game I like the best. I love cricket because in my native country of Sri Lanka, it is very famous for cricket. Also I have been playing cricket for almost more than twenty two years. When I started to play cricket that is the year Sri Lanka won the World Cup.

Especially if we know about cricketing rules than only we can watch cricket and it will be interesting to watch. In cricket, each team has eleven players in a game and two will be substitutes. Because of cricket, countries know more about some small countries, such as, Sri Lanka. Always there are three parts of cricket tournament which are Twenty-Twenty (T-20), One-day (50 overs), and test match (5-day match).

Cricket Rules

Most of the people who watch this on television mostly love to watch Twenty-Twenty (overs) Cricket because this won’t take that much time to know the result. And one day cricket is fifty overs per team and eleven players can bat. At the same time if they lose ten wickets, opponent’s team will bat and chase their runs. If they cannot chase the runs they will lose the match.

Test match is five day cricket and each team will get a chance to bat two times. That’s called first innings and second innings. At the same time both runs will count as total runs. So whoever bats second team, that team in their second innings have to chase that runs otherwise they will lose that match.

All types of cricket have the same rules for overs. In the cricketing field, only one player can bowl the six balls, which is one over. Extras are the very important part of this cricket such as wide, no ball, leg byes and byes. If bowlers bowl extra during their over, they have to rebowl that. While a batsman is batting and the ball passes behind him and if it does not touch any part of batsmen or bat, then that will be called wide from the main umpire. At the same time, if the ball passes front side well ahead of the batsman that is also called widespread call from main umpire.

There are few varieties of no balls. When the bowler bowls without bouncing the pitch and it is above the waist high, that will be called no ball from the leg umpire. If it bounces and passes over the batsman’s head that is also called no ball from the leg umpire. At the same time, when bowler balls their releasing point there is one crease (line) on the floor. If the bowler’s first foot is behind that line while they are bowling that will be called no ball from the main umpire. Nowadays there is some interesting rule in this cricket. If some bowlers bowl no ball then umpire will signal that it is a “free hit”. A “free hit” ball means whenever batsman plays for the free hit ball, even if he gets out, officially that is not out and batsman can carry on with his batting.
