Celebration

“Shavuot” is the Jewish holiday, that means in the Torah the grain harvest holiday. It is the Jewish harvest festival celebrated in May, after Passover.  In addition, at “Shavuot” Jews were given the Torah on Mount Sinai thousands of years ago.

This is one of my most favourite Jewish holidays, because I met my husband for the first time face to face.  Furthermore, I have very good memories from my home. During the feast, dairy products are eaten so when we celebrated “Shavuot” all the family gathered in our house and everyone cooked dairy meals and brought them to share with us. The meals that were served at that day were mostly: cheese cakes, a variety types of cheeses, creamed potatoes, homemade breads, salads etc..

In my opinion, all Jewish holidays bring light, miracles and happiness. They also unite the family around the table and “Shavuot” is a special miracle to gather the whole family.
