Celebration

eid mubarak greeting

Syria is a beautiful country. Most people are kind and nice. The weather is much different from Canada. It is hot and dry in the summer and cool in the winter. However, spring and fall are amazing in Canada. In Syria, the spoken language is Arabic. Syria has many religions, there are Muslims, Christians and Jews. Most people are Muslims and they have a special month called Ramadan which is a month of fasting. That means they must not eat or drink from sunrise until sunset. They end that month with a big celebration called Eid Al Eftar. The night before Eid, everyone who has enough money to live must give poor people either money or food so everyone can celebrate the Eid. In the morning, everyone gets dressed up nice and pretty. Then, they go pray at the mosque. After that, some people walk to the cemetery to visit their deceased if they have any. People exchange gifts and visits. Kids would have new toys and they would play and have fun for the whole day. I used to have fun doing that but not anymore. I am hoping that one day I could celebrate Eid in Syria with my family.
