Driving

In the town where I live we do not have any public transportation so it’s important to have a driver's license. I have been practicing driving for the past 9 months. This is what I learned from my driving lessons.

First, you must know all the traffic laws, traffic signs, and the speed limit on the roads. You must be alert and focus on the road, especially in winter time. It can be very dangerous to drive in the snow, especially if it’s new to you. You should not use cruise control when driving in winter time because you need to have control of the car yourself.

Next, remember to always fasten your seatbelt! Check your signal lights, side mirrors, rear mirror, fuel and brakes before you drive. You should always keep your fuel tank at least above half. Always check your side mirrors and shoulder check when changing lanes or turning left or right. It’s important to stay safe! Never ever drink and drive and don’t use your phone either. This could cause you to lose focus on the road. Remember to always stop when it’s required and always watch for other cars. Finally, it’s important to remember that pedestrians are always the priority!

If you are careful and follow the rules you will have a good experience driving.

Always keep in mind all the rules and regulations for your safety and the safety of others! So, be safe driving in Canada and good luck driving in winter time!
