Rasmalai is very famous and one of the favourite desserts in Pakistan and India. People love to make it on special occasions.

The recipe of Rasmalai is as follows:

Ingredients to make milk balls:

  • Milk powder - 2 cups
  • Cooking oil / Ghee - 2 tablespoons
  • Eggs - 2
  • Baking powder - 2 tablespoons
  • Plain flour - 1 tablespoon

Ingredients to make milk syrup,

  • Fresh milk - 2 litres
  • Sugar - 2 cups
  • Green cardamom - 9-10

Method,

  1. Put fresh milk, sugar and green cardamom in a pot, boil it once and leave it on low heat for 15 minutes.
  2. Then mix milk powder, baking powder, plain flour and in a separate bowl.
  3. Then put oil or ghee, in this mixture and mix well again.
  4. Add eggs and make the dough.
  5. Don’t add water if the dough is hard, we can add a small amount of warm milk.
  6. Leave it for 5 minutes.
  7. Then make small balls of the same size.
  8. Then put these balls in to milk syrup.
  9. Increase the heat of stove. Once milk boils, leave it for 15 minutes on slow heat.
  10. After that, switch off the heat and keep in refrigerator to get cold.
  11. Then garnish with almonds and pistachio.
  12. Serve and enjoy the wonderful sweet.
