Close up of woman hand threading beads on drawstring to make artistic bead necklace or bracelet

A few years ago, when I was in Korea, I saw a beautiful bracelet on the Internet one day. It was a clear bangle that had real tiny purple flowers inside. I was immediately fascinated, because I'd never seen that kind of jewelry before. I'd searched for a few days to buy the same style of bracelet, but couldn't find it. At that time I was too busy working, so later on I totally forgot about it.

Now I live in Canada and am looking after the baby at home. Since I have more free time, I’ve been thinking I need something else to do besides nurturing and studying. One day my family and I went to the city market, and saw some handmade jewelry there. Suddenly, the purple flower bracelet popped into my head. Their items were good, but I thought I could make the same thing or even better. I have experience making miniature stuff, so I thought it could be quite similar in terms of dealing with something very small. Soon, I researched some websites, and found out that I can use epoxy resin and dry flowers to make it! I was so happy that I could actually make my own now.

However, there were some tricky parts. When you handle resin, you definitely need to open the windows and air out your space, because it has a strong smell. If you don't, it might cause skin problems or irritate your eyes. Since I have a little baby and live in a small apartment, I don't think it's a good idea using resin at home. So, what I am doing now is just collecting materials. I've already ordered a bunch of dry flowers, molds, and jewelry components, such as pendant frames. Also, when I go for a walk, sometimes I pick up some tiny flowers and put them in books. They are small, but beautiful as big flowers, and would be perfect for my resin work. I am drawing jewelry designs in my notebook too.

Once I find the right place to work, I will happily make everything I've imagined. Maybe I could sell some items online too! It's always exciting when you're doing what you've always really wanted, and making money at the same time! Hopefully I can use all these materials in the immediate future at a suitable place.
