Here is some vocabulary from this edition. Do you know what the words mean?

amulet
something worn to protect against bad luck, disease etc

ayurvedic
a traditional Indian medical treatment that involves using herbs, eating certain types of food, and doing yoga

bankrupt
without enough money to pay what you owe

boundless
having no limit or end

cacophony
a loud unpleasant mixture of sounds

contour
the shape of the outer edges of something such as an area of land or someone’s body

crucial
extremely important, because everything else depends on it

cyberspace
all the connections between computers in different places, considered as a real place where information, messages, pictures etc exist

descendant
someone who is related to a person who lived a long time ago, or to a family, group of people etc that existed in the past

elasticity
the ability of something to stretch and go back to its usual length or size

endemic
disease or problem is always present in a particular place, or among a particular group of people

fake
someone who is not what they claim to be or does not have the skills they say they have

hacker
someone who secretly uses or changes the information in other people’s computer systems

halt
stop or pause

hyped
very excited or nervous, and unable to keep still

in sync
working well together at exactly the same time and speed

intrusive
affecting someone’s private life or interrupting them in an unwanted and annoying way

inventive
new, different, or interesting ideas

irrespective
when particular fact has no effect on a situation and is not important

kin
family

metallurgy
the scientific study of metals and their uses

procrastinate
to delay doing something that you ought to do, usually because you do not want to do it

snowdrift
a deep mass of snow formed by the wind

spelunking
the sport of walking and climbing in caves

taffy
a type of soft chewy candy

tribe
a social group consisting of people of the same race who have the same beliefs, customs, language etc.

viable
an idea, plan, or method that can work successfully

windbreaker
a type of coat that protects you from the wind
