Here is some vocabulary from this edition. Do you know what the words mean?

azure
a bright blue colour

biodiversity
variety of plants and animals in a particular place

breathtaking
very impressive, exciting, or surprising

campsite
a place, usually within a campground, where one person or group can camp

candidate
someone who is being considered for a job or is competing in an election

colonial
relating to a country that controls and rules other countries, usually ones that are far away

customized
to change something to make it more suitable for you, or to make it look special or different from things of a similar type

duel
a fight with weapons between two people, used in the past to settle a quarrel

emigrate
to leave your own country in order to live in another country

entrepreneur
someone who starts a new business or arranges business deals in order to make money, often in a way that involves financial risks

equinox
one of the two times in a year when night and day are of equal length

haunted
a building that is believed to be visited regularly by the soul of a dead person

hindrance
something or someone that makes it difficult for you to do something

humongous
very big

invigorating
making you feel healthy and giving you a lot of energy

jousting
to fight with lances (long sticks) while riding horses, as part of a formal competition in the past

loom
a frame or machine on which thread is woven into cloth

medieval
connected with the Middle Ages

migration
when birds or animals travel regularly from one part of the world to another

munch
to eat something noisily

nominate
to officially suggest someone or something for an important position, duty, or prize

preacher
someone who talks about a religious subject in a public place

retire
to stop working, usually because you have reached a certain age

roam
to walk or travel, usually for a long time, with no clear purpose or direction

scepter
a decorated stick carried by kings or queens at ceremonies

spearheading
to lead an attack or organized action

stuffy
a room or building that feels like it does not have enough fresh air in it

trek
a long and difficult journey, made especially on foot as an adventure

verify
to discover whether something is correct or true
