Canada

The famous Gooderham building and the skyscrapers in the background

Canada is a country full of opportunities, where we can give our son a life far from violence, a life with prosperity, peace, and new learning experiences. It means discovering a new culture and facing challenges that help us grow and become better people.

Canada opened its doors to us, and we had to leave a large part of our family behind in Colombia and make changes in many aspects of our lives, such as our diet, jobs, Thommy’s school, and the culture.

These changes have made us stronger people; we have learned new customs and taken on the challenge of a new language. Everything has been very challenging, but we also know that these efforts are for our own good and will be rewarded in the future.

We have to fulfill many responsibilities that we already had before — in my case, I’m studying at university. But on top of that, we now have even more tasks and responsibilities. It hasn’t been easy. Life here moves faster; it feels like time goes by more quickly and there isn’t enough of it to do everything we have to do. But with effort, we will succeed.

Canada is a beautiful country that inspires you to become better and gives you peace of mind. It pushes you to fight for your dreams. It is a precious country.
