How to Bake a Sponge Cake

This is my Sponge Cake recipe that is good with coffee, tea, or as a snack. It is best to use a mixer or blender instead of beating it by hand.
This recipe was originally my aunt’s, who showed me in 2013. However, I added my own changes, like milk instead of orange juice, 4 eggs instead of 3, and I added vanilla extract.
Ingredients:
- 4 eggs
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- ¾ cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- Half a lemon’s zest
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions:
Preheat the oven for 10 minutes. Beat the eggs and sugar until they turn into a whitish, bubbly mixture. Add the vanilla extract and lemon zest. Then slowly add the milk and oil. Mix well. Sieve the cups of flour, cornstarch, and baking powder together. Add them to the mixture. Pour the mixture into a pan with parchment paper. Bake the cake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden.
