English

Learn English text on laptop

My word of the year is fluency. This word is very important to me because I moved to a new country, and I want to communicate better in English. Fluency means being able to speak, read and write without thinking too much.

This year, I have been working hard to improve my fluency. I practice speaking and listening every day at work, while also taking class with my wonderful teacher Ashley. On the other hand, I continue to follow some coaches on YouTube like Kodjo or Tiffany who help me improve my grammar, pronunciation, tone and structure. For me being fluent is not just about expressing my thoughts clearly but is about feeling confident and achieving a goal.

I always dream of being an investment banker and I can’t achieve that goal without being proficient in English, so I am sure fluency will help me at work as a banking teller and in my daily life to connect with people. That’s why fluency is my word of the year.
