Importance of Staying Healthy

Being healthy means taking care of our body and mind. We should eat balanced meals with fruits, vegetables, and protein. For example, eating fruits such as oranges, bananas, apples, eating vegetables such as cabbage, salad, spinach, and eating protein rich foods such as chicken, fish, maize, eggs, yogurt, milk, cheese, and dairy products are helpful to get important nutrients to stay healthy.
Exercises like walking or playing sports helps keep our body strong. Going to gym on a regular basis is helpful for the body. Playing team sports such as football, hockey, basketball, volleyball and handball are not only good for the body but they also help in building team skills. Football is played by many people from all over the world and it is easy to play with other people. In my country Eritrea, many people love to do bicycling.
Bicycles are an important medium of transportation because it is affordable. It is difficult to purchase a car, so people use bicycles for everyday work such as going from one place to another, delivering food and medical supplies. I think bicycles are very good for building physical strength and they are good for exercise also.
Drinking enough water and getting good sleep are also very important. It is important to drink at least two to three litres of water everyday. Water helps to digest food and other things that we eat. It also helps in good blood circulation in the body and maintains a healthy heart. If we drink less water or there is dehydration, it could lead to kidney infections. Getting a good night's sleep is healthy for the mind and the body. Six to eight hours of sleep helps in reducing stress. It reenergizes the body.
When we are healthy, we have more energy, we feel happy, and we can do our daily activities better.
