Settlement

Bus moving on the road in city in early morning

My name is Moise. My family and I came to Canada through the Refugee Resettlement Program to build a better and safer future. Starting a new life in a different country was not easy! Everything was new: the weather, the culture, and especially the language! But we are so thankful to be in this beautiful nation and have the chance to start over. I am now taking English classes with LINC Home Study, which is helping me improve my language skills and adjust to life in Canada. Back home, I worked in construction for many years, and I gained hand-on experience in concrete work, masonry, carpentry, and painting. I am very interested in continuing my career here by finding an apprenticeship and learn more about Canadian building practice. Life as a newcomer has its challenges, but I stay hopeful. I am so thankful to everyone who supported me along the way, including the Canadian government and the many programs that help newcomers. With hard work and support, I believe I can achieve my goals and create a better future for my family and for this country at large.
