This is an article about community in Canada, specially for newcomers. Community in Canada is not what we have in the mind.

Many newcomers upon arrival in Canada look for the people who come from the same countries or from the same continent. They look for their family members or relatives to stay together. According to my research, this is how newcomers behave.

But let me tell you something: in Canada, we have to date someone else, communicate with other people who are not from our country or are not our family members, and discover how life is in Canada. We shouldn’t waste too much time to build our own life in Canada, like professional life, social life in a very new environment, and family life in another context.

When we stay only with the person who come from the same place as us, we are not growing. We still do the same things as in the past, and we are not learning about the culture of the new country. While doing this, we are failing our integration.

We have to deal with native Canadians, learn about their culture and manners and about their rules, and so on.
