Settlement

My name is Saba. I’m from Eritrea, East Africa. I came to Canada in in 2021. I was living in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

When I was a newcomer, it was very difficult for me to find a job, because my English was not very good. My brothers with me, they helped me out. I learned about OFE -Opportunities for Employment. I registered with them and they helped me find part-time job. After that I found full-time job. I worked for 3 months.

Then we moved to Guelph, Ontario. I am living in Guelph for 2 years now. Now I’m working for Leamor Company as a machine operator.

I’m slowly learning different rules of working in Canada. I have made new friends at work and I will soon make progress.

I’m enjoying my work. My first step towards settling in Canada.
