Terry's dog ate his English exercise book, so he wrote the following exercise on the inside of a cereal box and asked the students to read this dialogue.

This is what the students saw.


A Dialogue by T. Teacher
  1. Pardon me, girls, is this the train to Buffalo? asked the young traveller.
  2. Every day he asked the same question Is this the train to Buffalo?
  3. The girls asked why he was going to Buffalo.
  4. Buffalo exclaimed the young traveller is my favourite town!
  5. As the Toronto Star put it Buffalo is one of the finest cities in America.
  6. It was the tallest girl that first said just get on the train at gate 49.
  7. The young traveller claimed that he was afraid of trains.
  8. The girls wondered whether the young traveller would ever get to see Buffalo.
