Victoria is the capital city of British Columbia and it is the southernmost city of Vancouver Island in west coast of Canada. I like this beautiful old city, which is historical and has a very British style.

I have visited this beautiful city many times since I have lived on the same island. However, it was a totally new experience to be there in this summer. Our family went to Victoria to celebrate BC Day which is the first Monday in August. There were many events around city but the most spectacular show was Victoria Symphony Splash – music on the water.

The stage was set up on the water in the inner harbour. The Symphony played beautiful music, not only classics but also famous soundtracks. A lot of people were sitting or standing and even dancing while enjoying the beautiful tunes. Imagine how romantic it was, listening to the theme of Cinema Paradiso with all the lights of buildings around us, and the boats under the beautiful red sunset. The climax of the show was the fireworks. When they played the last music, 1812 overture of Tchaikovsky, they fired fireworks into the sky. It was a wonderful gift for one summer night.
