Community

For my culture, the Church is the center of our community.  I think that it's important to support the community, have fundraisers to pay the bills and the church school and the expenses that the church has.  It feels good that the community can come together and help each other out.  And the children that are big enough to understand, they do understand what a fundraiser is about.  It makes them feel like stronger people of the community and get closer together.

Having coffee, tea or sweets and some snacks after church. school or a meeting when we have one is always nice to get to know more people and to know them better and have conversations about their families and stuff like that.

We as church members collect money at church for the preachers because they have to travel more and also collect money at church for people if they lost something such as burning down a shed or something else. Also, we collect money about twice a year at the church for the poor countries. If someone comes new to this country, we as church, help them for the first month or so and the church brothers have meetings once a month to look things over such as bills and talk about what is needed and what they are going to do.  And as church, we are like a close family and we do special things if somebody has a new baby, for example.   We bring the family food every day and help them with what they need to help for about 2 to 3 weeks so that the mom can take it easy for about the first month.
