Homeland

I used to live in Damascus, but now I live in Canada.  I miss everything in Damascus: my dad, my mom, my apartment, the streets and our food.  Damascus is the capital of the Syrian Arab Republic.  It has also been given the title “the City of Jasmine.”  In addition, it is one of the oldest cities in the world.

Everyone who lived in Syria was happy until the war started.  Then everything changed.  Now there is no safety, no hopes, no dreams, just fear and pain.

Now I am in Canada!  I feel happy and safe and I have dreams and wishes.  I hope my wishes come true and l hope Syria becomes better and that peace prevails all over the world.
