Parenthood

Black and white image of a little girl hugging her mother

There many people who have influenced my life, but there is one special person who showed me more than I could see in the world and that special person is my mother!

My mother was the strongest woman I know. She became a widow at a very young age. She brought me and my brother up all by herself. She made me strong as well. I owe my life, my strength, and my passion for music to this woman who spent her entire life loving and caring for her family.

When I was at university, I got married and soon had a daughter.  At that point, I wanted to stop studying and take care of my daughter, but my mother didn’t let me do that. She said she was ready to help me. She wanted me to graduate and get my degree. With her help, I was able to graduate and become a music teacher - something that I always wanted to do! She helped me to achieve my dream.

My turn has come now. I am now helping my daughter with her children. She will graduate soon and will achieve her dream too - to become a doctor! And, I am very happy.

I feel all this was possible because of my mother. My mother showed me the right way and gave me the strength to do what I did. Her image is embedded in my heart and my soul. I am not saying my mom was perfect, because I know no one is, but she was not far from being perfect and that’s why she has such a special place in my heart.
