Winter 2015

Seasonal

The summer holidays are the most talked about holidays in the winter at my home here in Canada because where I come from, which is a tropical island, it is always warm. Even though the summer holidays in my country has a lot of fun to it, it is not as exciting as the one here in Canada. Why? Because my country, which is Jamaica, has tropical weather all year round, so we can do the same things over and over all year round. For example, going to the beach or having outdoor parties can be done at any time throughout the year, but here in Canada summer holidays have more fun things to do, and you are looking forward to coming out of a long cold winter.

Summer holidays in Canada are fun. They are full of activities, things to do, places to go, and anniversaries to celebrate. For example, in the summer, the family and I celebrate Canada Day by going to the beach with friends. We barbeque and have picnics, watch the kids plays in the water and have a beer and enjoy the moment. At night we all gather to watch the fireworks. In addition to celebrating special days, we go camping, which is another enjoyable summer activity.

Whenever summer time comes around, the people I meet are always in a good mood and high spirits regardless if they are at home or on holidays doing their grill/barbeque in their backyard or enjoying the comfort of their home, or even still going to work.

I always love summer because of the warm weather, the fun, the celebrations and because there is no snow.
