Travel (Outside of Canada)

It has been the second year since my family came to Canada from China. The part I miss very much is sea and beach. Before I came here, my hometown is not very far from Southeast Asia, so every year my family would have a vacation there.

There are many islands in Southeast Asia. I remember the last vacation we took was in Thailand. It is an island that is not very famous, which means it has not been destroyed much by people and there are more fishes in the sea. There are many small crabs on the beach; my son loved to watch these baby crabs crawl and make holes on the beach. When he walked there, these baby crabs would crawl quickly and hide themselves in the holes. He also liked to build with sand. He built bridges, city, castles, and many other things with sand. The best part we liked there was there were many fishes we could see even in shallow area. We could see shoals of fish swimming around us. That was amazing.

In my hometown, we have two holidays. We could have 7 days off from work both on our National Day and New Year, so it was a great opportunity to plan a vacation with family. Because Southeast Asia is not far from my hometown, many people choose to take a vacation near the sea to relax. And it does not cost too much money for the whole vacation. Next time when I go back to my hometown, I am planning to spend a week on an island. I am so looking forward to it.
